We've owned fountains with 70-80 oz capacity, so I wasn't sure if a 100 oz fountain would be that different. But we fill the fountain less frequently now for our 3 fur babies (1 50-lb dog, 2 cats). I'm pleased that it doesn't really take up more floor space than the other fountains (about 1 square foot). This is the first fountain that our dog prefers over his standard water bowl. This fountain is INCREDIBLY QUIET. With our previous fountains, we would rely on the sound of the water to know when it was time to refill them. The water and pump in this fountain are SILENT, so the first indicator that the water is low is the sound of the pump running nearly dry. Now that our dog is using this fountain with our cats, we check the water level daily through the level window to ensure we don't run a dry pump.
We have very hard well water that sometimes has a sulfur smell, so I thought this pet fountain would be perfect for my pup and kitty! It was easy to set up, just needing to wash the tub to make sure it was clean from shipping. The cord is pretty long and was actually just long enough to plug in where I normally put the pets water bowl. It would be nice if it were just a little bit longer. There really is no sound as the water flows, which is also nice. Now for the pets, our cat was very afraid of it. I had to put cat treats up to it and he still was very afraid. He is starting to drink from it though, although hesitantly. Our dog took to it after about a day. So far, I really like it and I think it will keep the dogs water fresher.
My cat has been using the round Catit fountain for well over a year with no issues. Except she hates the flower attachment. I think free-falling water scares her. But¦ after she had an ear surgery and found herself in a cone/e-collar, she simply could not get to the water in the old fountain.I searched a long time for a suitable replacement that met all her needs. 1) she needed to be able to access it with a cone on her head. 2) No non-removable falling water feature. 3) No deep water basin access (she is a notorious water dish splasher and will scoop out whatever she can get her paw into and fling it all over, making a huge mess).I saw no reviews on this fountain regarding the cone issue and didn't get a good answer in Questions. Given the price points of some of the other fountains that checked all the boxes, I ultimately decided to gamble on this one.I couldn't be happier. It is SO quiet. I never considered the old one noisy, but I literally can't hear this one at all. With a cone on, she can access the large lower basin, as well as the smaller top basin. And the flow from upper to lower is so gentle, she is not scared by it and enjoys drinking from the tiny waterfall. The lower basin only fills to about a half an inch of water before it flows back down to where the pump is and she can't access the reservoir. So her mess-making ability is minimized. The best thing, of course, is she has easy access to fresh flowing water even with a cone on her head. The second best part was the price. I'm so please it works perfectly for under $30.I hope it lasts at least as long as the old one did.
I bought this fountain to give a try. With 3 cats, having fresh water available is important to their health.Setup was easy, most of the parts were already in place. Rinsed all parts thoroughly, rinsed filter (comes with 2 extra, bonus points for that). Added water to the MAX line and set it on the floor. My oldest was curious but cautious, looking to me for confirmation that it was okay to approach. I left her to it and I'm sure during the night it was visited by all 3.I found water on the floor in the morning but not sure it if was from them putting their feet in the water or that bubbler spit water. Will look into it and modify it as needed. Other than that it seems to work well. Definitely will be using it outside in the summer with my outdoor feral cats.Worth the price no matter who uses it.
So far I love this! My cat is always drinking out the bathroom sink when the water is running so I figured this would be perfect! It comes assembled in the box so all you have to do clean it and fill it with water and you're ready to go! It comes with 2 replacement filters and suggests you clean the unit and change the filter every 2 weeks. The machine is silent so you won't hear the sound of the water. It has a nifty light inside the tank so you are able to see the water level from outside. It's easy to fill and clean. My animals are still getting warmed up to it, but as soon as they do I will post a video of them enjoying it. :)
